Multichoice Increases The Prices Of DSTV And GOTV Subscriptions Again…
Citing the rising cost of doing business in Nigeria…
With effect from Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the new prices for Multichoice’s DSTV and GOtv packages will be implemented, as stated in an email that was sent out to consumers on Wednesday.

Just over four months after the most recent fee adjustment, the management of Multichoice Nigeria has stated again that they will be increasing the prices of subscriptions for their DStv and GOtv packages.
The newly implemented prices have an impact on both new subscribers and existing customers who are renewing their subscriptions say Multichoice.
The corporation explained that the new price adjustment was brought about as a consequence of the ongoing rise in the average cost of doing business in Nigeria. This was the reason given for the recent increase in prices.
Depending on the package, the Multichoice outlet raised the subscription fee for packages on DStv and GOtv from approximately 20 percent to approximately 26 percent.
The new pricing system for dstv
The price of the DStv Premium Package has been raised from its previous price of N29,500 to its current price of N37,000.
From N19,800 to N25,000, the price of the Compact Plus package has been raised to reflect the rise.
The price of the Compact package has increased from N12,500 to N15,700 while the price of the Confam package has increased from N7,400 to N9,300.
Under the new pricing. the price of Yanga has increased from N4,200 to N5,100 while that of Padi, which was N2,950, has changed to N3,360.
The price of HDPVR Access Service, which was N4,000, has risen to N5,000; while the price of access fees has increased from N4,000 to N5,000, and the price of XtraView has also increased from N4,000 to N5,000.
The new pricing system for GOtv
While the Supa+ package went up from N12,500 to N15,700, the Supa old package went up from N7,600 to N9,600.
GOtv Max package went up from N5,700 to N7,200, the Jolli package went up from N3,950 to N4,850, the Jinja package went up from N2,700 to N3,300, and the Smallie package went up from N1,300 to N1,575.
In an email that was signed by John Ugbe, Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice, the increased subscription price noted that the move would enable the company to deliver higher-quality content to the homes of its subscribers located all over the country.
According to the email sent to users of Multichoice titled, ‘Price Adjustment on DStv and GOtv Packages,’ which reads “On Wednesday, 1 May 2024 we will adjust our prices across all our packages on DStv and GOtv.
“We understand the impact this change may have on you – our valued customer, but the rise in the cost of business operations, has led us to make this difficult decision.
“It remains our mission to provide the best entertainment and viewing experience to you and are committed to continue to deliver high-quality content and unparalleled service.”

- Premium: N37,000
- Compact Plus: N25,000
- Compact: N15,700
- Confam: N9,300
- Yanga: N5,100
- Padi: N3,600
- HDPVR Access Service: N5,000
- Access Fees: 5,000
- XtraView: N5,000
