According to a flyer that originated by MRS Oil Plc and is currently trending online, the oil company has reduced the price of diesel to 1050 dollars per liter.

According to reports, the recent decision made by Dangote Petroleum Refinery to further reduce the price of diesel was the reason for the price reduction that occurred in some filling stations, which had previously been as high as N1,700 before the week under review.

The management of MRS Oil Plc issued a flyer in which they invited members of the general public to report any of its outlets that were found to be selling the diesel at a price that was more than the stipulated price of 1,050.

The statements from the fliers read “We are now selling AGO at all MRS retail outlets in Nigeria at N1050 per litre.

“Any station not selling at this price, please report to customer service or whistleblower,”

Dangote Slashing price of diesel to 1000 per litre

On Tuesday, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery made an announcement on a further decrease in the pricing of diesel and aviation fuel, which were respectively reduced to N940 per litre and N980 per litre following the announcement.

According to a report that was published in The PUNCH on April 17, the Dangote refinery responded to the requests of oil marketers for a decrease in the price of diesel by lowering the price of the commodity from N1,200 per litre to N1,000 per litre.

The facility which is worth several billions of dollars made an announcement on Tuesday regarding a further reduction in the price of AGO. However, it was made clear that the move would only apply to dealers who purchased diesel in quantities of five million liters or more.

Dangote Refinery statement issued by its spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina which read: “The price change of N940 applies to customers buying five million litres and above from the refinery, while the price of N970 is for customers buying one million litres and above,”

He went on to clarify that the increased price was in line with the company’s commitment to mitigate the impact of the economic difficulties that have been occurring in Nigeria.

According to the statement from Dantoge’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina: “I can confirm to you that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has entered a strategic partnership with MRS oil and gas stations to ensure that consumers get to buy fuel at affordable prices in all their stations, be it Lagos or Maiduguri.

“You can buy as low as one litre of diesel at N1,050 and aviation fuel at N980 at all major airports where MRS operates,”

In addition to this, he mentioned that the collaboration would be expanded to include other major petroleum marketers.

According to the refinery: “The essence of this is to ensure that retail buyers do not buy at exorbitant prices. The Dangote Group is committed to ensuring that Nigerians have better welfare, and as such, we are happy to announce these new prices.

“We hope that it would go a long way to cushion the effect of economic challenges in the country,” the spokesperson for the refinery stated.

A little over two weeks ago, the management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery made an announcement that they would be lowering the price of diesel from N1200 per litre to N1,000 per liter.

The price cut that took place on Tuesday was the third significant fall in diesel prices in a span of less than three weeks alone.

A little over a month ago, the product was marketed for N1,700 per litre; however, Dangote Refinery has since cut the price to N1,200 per litre.

A further drop in the price of AGO was carried out by the facility, bringing it down to N1,000 per litre prior to the most recent reduction by N940 per litre.

At a price of N980 per litre, Dangote Refinery releases aviation fuel from the factory.

The refinery was also praised by President Bola Tinubu for the initial price drop, which he referred to as an entrepreneurial achievement.
